Lisa brought to my attention a new artists’ group that the St. Augustine Art Association is forming. Here is the information from their website:
The St. Augustine Art Association is forming a new Young Artists Group, UNFRAMED, to gather monthly for open studio time, idea sharing, critiques and community art projects. College-age students and graduates are invited to the first meet and greet that will take place Friday, Nov. 12, from 7 to 9 pm.
Tina Greene, Design graduate of Flagler College, will facilitate the group. The Art Association is also collaborating with the Flagler College Dow Advantage Marketing students to launch the group. To learn more about the UNFRAMED Young Artists Group, call (904) 824-2310.
I just spoke with someone at the Association and she said, although the new group will be geared toward college students and recent graduates, there is no official age cut off.
Even though I am 34, many have said I have the mind of a child, so I am planning to attend their first meeting on Friday at the St. Augustine Art Association Gallery at 22 Marine Street. If you’d like to come along, too, just call (904) 824-2310 to RSVP. If you don’t get a chance, she said they won’t turn you away at the door.
